Important Reminder – Pet Responsibilities and Nuisance Policy

Published: August 29, 2025

As a reminder, the community’s Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (CC&Rs) outlines clear expectations for pet ownership within The Preserve at Honey Creek.

While pets are welcome in our community, it is important that all owners ensure their pets do not create a nuisance for neighbors. According to the CC&Rs:

    • Pets must not be allowed to make excessive noise (such as continuous barking).
    • Pets must not create unsanitary conditions or be left unattended in yards, porches, or common areas for extended periods.
    • All animals must be kept under control at all times and must not pose a threat or disturbance to other residents.
    • Residents are fully responsible for the behavior of their pets, as well as the pets of their guests or tenants.

What Residents Can Do if They Experience Issues:

If you encounter a situation where a pet may be causing a nuisance, please:

    1. Document the issue with photos, video, or written notes, including dates and times.
    2. Provide the property address where the concern is occurring.
    3. Submit the information directly to the Association so it can be reviewed as part of the normal violation process.

This documentation helps the Association properly address the concern in line with the CC&Rs. Please remember that all violation matters are private and will only be discussed between the Association and the homeowner involved.

If a pet is found to be causing a nuisance, the Association may pursue enforcement action through the violation process, which can include notices, hearings, and possible fines if the issue is not resolved.

We kindly ask all residents to be considerate of their neighbors and ensure that pets are properly supervised, cared for, and controlled. By working together, we can maintain a safe and peaceful environment for everyone in the community.

Thank you for your cooperation.
